CARS AND STREAMERS. MR. W. AH CHEE'S FUNERAL SERVICE AT PUREWA.  The funeral of the late Mr. W. Ah Chee took place at the Plirewa Cemetery this afternoon, a large number of motor cars being used to convey the numerous Europeans and Chinese who attended.

Over 2000 people gathered at the starting point in Hobson Street to see the eortajre move off. Twenty-live cars were used to convey the members of the Chinese Nationalist Party, and they were decorated with streamers lettered with Chinese characters. On the Kuo Min Tang building the Chinese Republican flag was flown at half-mast.

At Purewa, the Rev. W. Mawson, missioner to the Chinese, read the service, which was translated. The Chinese National Party's service was also read. The pall bearers were relatives and representatives of the Chinese Masonic and National parties.  Auckland Star, Volume LX, Issue 13, 16 January 1929, Page 9
